We camp at the Buffalo Point group campground. This means that we have reserved the whole group campsite and no one else may camp there. The group camp site is rustic but has water spigots, restrooms with flush toilets and a sink, grills, and tables. Showers are available at the main campsite five minutes away. There are five camping areas and up to 20 people may camp at each one. You may not sleep in a vehicle or recreational vehicle - this is a tent camping area only. The group camp site facilities are not handicapped accessible. Two sites are reserved for Sunday night -- sites 3 and 4 -- if you are staying over, be sure and use one of those sites or you will have to move.
If you want to use a trailer or recreational vehicle, camping is available at the main campground. If you cannot get reservations, there is a section that has open camping that usually is available up until Tuesday or early Wednesday before Memorial Day, first come, first served.
We also reserve the pavilion for use over the whole weekend. The pavilion has lights, electricity and tables, and it also provides some shelter if there is rain.
Many people stay at the campground cabins and some simply drive up for the day to canoe, then return home. There are no more cabins in the park available for the 2012 event, but you might check with Dirst or Buffalo Bills Outfitters.
